Rainbow Mountain, or Vinicunca, is famous worldwide for its natural stripes of red, yellow, green and purple minerals. Located more than 5,000 meters above sea level, it is one of the most impressive hikes you can do from Cusco.
Our private tour and transport service lets you leave Cusco at the time you choose, avoiding the big crowds that arrive with group tours. Your driver will wait for you at the trailhead and take you back to your hotel after the hike.
Because of the extreme altitude, this excursion is recommended only after at least two or three days of acclimatization in Cusco. Horses can be rented at the trailhead for those who prefer not to walk the whole way.

A full-day adventure to Vinicunca, the famous Rainbow Mountain.
04:00 – Pickup in Cusco
Early departure from your hotel towards Cusipata.
06:30 – Breakfast stop
Optional breakfast in a local restaurant in Cusipata.
08:30 – Start of the hike
Hike of about 1.5 – 2 hours to the top of Vinicunca (horses available).
11:00 – Descent
Return to the parking area along the same trail.
13:00 – Return to Cusco
Drive back to Cusco, arriving around 16:00.
